hello® Travel Oral Care Kit for Kids
Graduate Studio Project
Scope: Packaging Design | Product Design
hello is a U.S.-based oral care brand positioned as a friendly, fun, and natural alternative to traditional oral-care products.
The goal of this project was to leverage thermoforming as a manufacturing technique to design a compact, reusable, and kid-friendly dental care package for hello®. The kit includes the brand’s essential oral care products; toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, and a brush timer; reimagined in a format suited for travel and everyday use.
After the initial ideation phase, I realized the travel case had grown too large, reducing its effectiveness as a travel solution. To resolve this, I redesigned the products included in the case. Since the brand does not currently offer a travel-size kids’ oral care line, the new product concepts were developed by referencing existing market standards and TSA-approved dimensions.
A colorful elastic can make the case feel like a “fun” object to keep using. Kids are more likely to re-close and carry something that’s easy to operate
The packaging includes stickers designed to motivate children and encourage consistent brushing habits.
In retail settings, the packaging is designed to stand upright, aligning with research showing that most oral care products, such as toothpaste and mouthwash, are displayed vertically to enhance visibility and shelf presence.
